1:1 Dog Training in Nailsea, Clevedon & Portishead

The best place to start when you want individual help around you and your dog.

Just you, your dog, and my full attention

Every dog is different, and sometimes what you need isn’t a group it’s someone watching just you and your dog, working through exactly what’s going on.

That’s what 1:1 training is for. Private sessions on Fairlight’s own secure fields in Tickenham, whatever stage you and your dog are at.

Puppy Training

There’s no set age or stage that moves a puppy from Trainee to Advanced every dog learns differently, and some find certain things harder than others. In 1:1 sessions, there’s no rush to move on before something’s actually been learned, and no single “right way” to teach an exercise. If one method isn’t clicking, we try another until it does.

This route is especially recommended for adopted dogs. It covers the foundation learning that builds a real relationship between you and your dog, and, just as importantly, it helps set realistic expectations. It’s easy to expect too much too soon; starting here builds confidence for both of you.

Trainee Puppy 40 minutes for £40 or a training programme of 4 sessions is £150

Advanced Puppy 40 minutes for £40 or a training programme of 4 sessions is £150

“Can highly recommend Georgina for 1-1 training.

We’ve had several sessions with our ‘easily distracted’ cocker spaniel puppy and love that Georgina is so flexible and adapts her approach depending on how things are progressing during the session.

So we always leave feeling positive because we’ve trained in areas which have played to our pup’s strengths, alongside working on the things she finds harder.

Plus it’s lots of fun so our pup always has a blast.”

What a session actually looks like:

When you arrive, your dog goes off lead for a few minutes first giving them a chance to explore, sniff, and settle after the journey into a new environment.

While that’s happening, we talk through what you want from the session and what you’re hoping for. I’ll explain what we’re going to do and why before we start, and keep talking you through it as we go including what’s going on from your dog’s point of view, which people rarely get to hear.

You’ll leave with a clear, step-by-step plan to work on at home and out on walks, so that by the time we meet again, you’ve nailed what you need for the next step. And if anything comes up in between sessions, you can always message me.

A single session is available if you’d like to meet me and get a feel for how I work first, but the training programme of 3 sessions is the real recommendation – meaningful change in a dog’s training rarely happens in a single hour, and the programme gives us the space to actually build something.

1:1 Dog Training – 1 hour for £60 or a training programme of 3 sessions is £170

For adolescent wobbles, lead-pulling, recall that’s vanished, or just wanting a stronger relationship with the dog in front of you.

“Georgina is a great trainer – she really helps us to try to get into the mind of Ralphie, our dog, and to understand how he learns and thinks.

It’s been great fun and he’s turning into a really good boy. (most of the time!). I’d recommend George to anyone – totally non-judgemental and really enthusiastic!”

Is 1:1 Right For You?

For most dogs and guardians, yes it’s the best place to start, but not always.

If you’re purely interested in companion gundog sessions, you can go straight into a group; your dog’s first session will make it clear whether 1:1 support would help alongside it, based on how they settle around other dogs.

Similarly, dogs who’ve already done other training eg. agility, scent work, that kind of thing, usually don’t need 1:1 first, since they’re typically comfortable in a group setting already.

What to Expect

Whatever you’re working on, there’s no discovery call required just message me on WhatsApp and tell me what’s going on, or book straight in if you already know what you need. If you’d rather talk it through first, that’s always fine too, just ask.

Change is possible, and it’s often quicker than you’d expect.

How fast depends on your dog, but you’ll leave every session with a clear plan for what comes next.
