It's a Girl!

Updated: Feb 1, 2022

Bringing my pup home was a well thought out operation. The kids were at school, Max the resident dog had been walked and my mum drove so I could hold her on the way home making sure she felt safe and secure on her first car journey with me.

Once we'd gotten all the paperwork out of the way it was time to go home and I was prepared! Travel sickness is a thing in puppies and dogs so with a towel on my lap and a piece of vet bed with the scent of her mother and siblings we made to journey home. Yes I was prepared for all eventualities like you would when bringing a newborn home from the hospital but in reality it was a 20minute drive and she slept the whole way, in fact she still sleeps on most of our journeys no matter how excited she is.

Once home we met Max age 4 in the back garden and I'm not gonna lie I was a little worried about their first meeting, a lot was riding on it being a good one mainly because Max was a from rescue and came with more than a few issues.

He was not impressed, he looked at me like I was crazy bringing this tiny intruder in to the home. He mostly watched her with an almost quizzical look on his face, one of my fondest memories is of when she ran straight underneath him and the alarming look on his face as he checked in with me to see if this was ok? I need not have worried because within days they were running around the garden together and sleeping together. To say Max loves her is an understatement, I'm not sure he could live without her now and she's made his and our lives better.
